Managing Weigh Checks in LoadMate

LoadMate is not only about helping you calculate your loads but also managing professional weigh check reports. Here's how you can effectively use LoadMate to record, edit, and link your weigh checks.

Record Weighing Reports

You can log all your professional weigh check reports in LoadMate and attach any relevant files for future reference. The platform will use the actual figures from these reports to calculate your vehicle and caravan weights.

Importance of Professional Weighing

Regular professional weighing is essential for ensuring your weights are compliant and as expected. This is particularly important for new caravan owners, as the real-world tare weights often differ from the values listed on the caravan's compliance plates.

Entering Weighing Details

When logging a weight report, you have two options:

Enter individual wheel loads for LoadMate
Enter individual wheel loads for LoadMate
  • Enter individual wheel loads for LoadMate to calculate everything based on these numbers.
Input the actual combined rating
Input the actual combined rating
  • Input the actual combined ratings.

The choice depends on your weigh check method:

  • If you've used a weighbridge, enter the total weights, as individual wheel weights are not available.
  • If you've used a mobile weight service, enter the weight of each wheel.

Entering individual wheel weights allows LoadMate to do the calculations, eliminating the risk of human errors that can occur with manual calculations.

When entering individual wheel loads, remember that LoadMate assumes all wheels are measured in combination (caravan attached to the vehicle). The tow ball download is recorded separately, with its effect on axle loads already considered.

Linking Loads to a Weigh Check Report

Linking your loads to a weigh check report enables LoadMate to accurately track and adjust your calculations for stability, compliance, and tow ball download based on actual weight check results.

Why Link Loads to a Weigh Check Report?

  1. Accurate calculations: LoadMate uses the professional weight check results as the basis for all calculations.
  2. Real-time updates: As you add, remove, or move loads, LoadMate dynamically updates the calculations.
  3. Monitor load changes: Track the net effect of moving loads after the weigh check, helping you maintain stability and compliance.

How to Link Loads

  1. All passengers, vehicle, and caravan loads will be displayed. Excluded loads from LoadMate during your setup will not appear as options.
  2. Select the applicable loads that were included in your weight report using the checkboxes.
  3. The status of the selected loads will change to "Weighed", marking them as accounted for.
  4. You can modify the linked loads as needed.

Removing, Adding, and Moving Loads

You can also manage your loads after linking a weigh check:

  • Removing Loads: To remove a load after a weigh check report is lodged, click "Remove." LoadMate will deduct the load's weight from your calculations. Don't delete a load if you want to remove it after lodging a weigh check report, as this won't update the calculations.
  • Adding Loads: If you've forgotten to add any loads or accessories to your LoadMate profile at the time of entering and linking your weight check report, you can add them later. Add the new load to your profile, then return to this section and link the load to your weigh check report. LoadMate will incorporate the load with the initial loads from the report, allowing you to track its changes from then on.
  • Changing an Item's Location After a Weigh Check Report: You can modify an item's location through the "Edit Load" section under respective "Vehicle," "Passengers," or "Caravan" load screens. After saving your changes, LoadMate will recalculate the effect of moving the item, adjusting the rig's weight distribution, stability, and compliance.

Dynamic Calculations and Load Locations

LoadMate will show the original and new location, along with the weight movement.

LoadMate uses the weight report as the foundation for calculations, with loads added or removed after the weight check date dynamically calculated for a real-time view of theoretical loads.

You can also change a load's location through the edit screen after linking it to a weight report. LoadMate will calculate the net effect, helping you stay updated without needing constant professional weighing.

Historical Weight Check Reports

You can log all historical weight check reports for future reference. LoadMate uses the latest (most recent) report for calculations and marks it as 'Active.' All other reports will be marked as 'Historic' and included for reference only.

Adaptable Viewing Experience

While the weigh check page is dynamic and compatible with both mobile and desktop applications, it's best viewed on a larger device. On a mobile phone in portrait mode, click into each report to edit or delete from the popup.

When you are ready click the little 'Continue Onboarding' button in the bottom right and we'll pull everything together!
