Adding Your Vehicle Loads
Welcome to the stage where we dive into the specifics of your vehicle loads. Here, we focus on adding any loads not included in your vehicle's tare weight. This is especially critical for vehicles like utes, where trays or canopies may not be factored into the tare weight. Even things like your tow hitch and LT tyres count as additions to your tare weights.
Using LoadMate to Your Advantage
Before we delve into the process, let's take a moment to talk about how you can get the most out of LoadMate. If you've made modifications to your vehicle and have a professional weight check report, you can easily enter the actual tare weight of your vehicle during the initial vehicle specifications section. And if your actual tare weight already included your vehicle accessories, there's no need to enter them again here.
LoadMate truly shines when it comes to handling all your loads. Knowing the weight impact of each accessory, fixture, or piece of luggage is invaluable, especially when you need to redistribute weight due to overloading.
Making Adjustments
With LoadMate, once you've added a load and validated your rig with a professional weight check, you can 'remove' loads. This deducts the weight from your dashboard, providing an updated, real-time view of your compliance. If you suspect you might be close to your limit or you're unsure, it's a good idea to include all your significant loads and fixtures in your vehicle at this stage.
Adding Loads
The process here is straightforward. Click the “add loads” button at the bottom right. You'll see an option for “add from list.” This will take you to an extensive list of common accessories, loads, and fixtures, along with average weights. If you're looking for something specific, use the search option at the top right.
How to Narrow Down Weights
When you've found a load to add to your vehicle, hit the + icon. This takes you to a screen where you can amend the description, add notes, and adjust the average weight. If you don't know the exact weight, our API connection to OpenAI can help by providing a typical weight for most common items.
Once you've found the items you want to add, the next step is to select where in the vehicle the load is located. This helps in effectively distributing the load's weight. For items added to the roof racks, choose the closest suitable point, or a midpoint between the axles if the loads is distrbuted evenly.
The 'Exclude Loads' Option
Just like the passenger addition screen, you have the option to exclude loads. This is particularly useful for items you're unsure of carrying on every trip.
Attachments to Loads
This feature allows you to keep all your information and receipts in one place. Add or delete attachments at any time, but remember, if you delete a load, the attachments go too. When you're ready, hit save.
You also have the ability to add a picture to any loads you enter as a handy way to help you visually identify them. Just click the circle at the top and upload or take a suitable picture.
Capturing All Your Major Loads and Accessories
Repeat this process for all major loads and accessories. For a more comfortable experience, LoadMate is also available on desktop. However, bear in mind that while LoadMate is built with Flutter, which is excellent for mobile applications, the user experience on the web isn't as good as a native website or desktop installed software.
Once you've captured all your loads, hit the 'continue onboarding' button in the bottom right. You can always return to this screen later.
